As we enter this new year (yay!), a great way to start 2023 is to refresh your home. We understand we’ve all probably spent too much money over the holidays, but these changes don’t cost anything at all. We’ve gathered a few tips below on how to refresh your home for the new year.
UNdeck the halls.
If only taking down our decorations was as exciting as putting them up (sigh). We’re finding joy in putting everything away and getting back to reality. “Undecking the halls” is a great place to start when entering a fresh year.
Set house goals for the year.
Which rooms could use a refresh? Is there anything that needs to be fixed? Have you had a project in mind that you’d like to accomplish this year? Decide on what’s most important and financially doable and get it done! Your vision for your 2023 home deserves to be a priority. You can even focus on creating a cozy nook, rearranging a spare bedroom or adding a fresh coat of paint somewhere.

Purge & organize.
Start your spring cleaning early and purge, purge, purge! Now is the time to get rid of or donate anything you’ve been holding onto – kitchenware, furniture, clothing, toys, etc. If you’re not ready to part ways with your dining room chairs, look into having them reupholstered, to give them a fresh, new look. In terms of organization, try make your life easier. Organize your pantry and restock it with some new staples. Ever thought to try the Balanced Pantry Box? And lastly, give everyone in the house a weekly task. Garbage duty, emptying the dishwasher, or making lunches. Small things to keep your house organized (and one less thing on your list of to-do’s!)
Take advantage of January sales.
Who doesn’t love a good sale, even after all of the holiday spending? These sales are always great to grab a fresh set of sheets, new towels for the house, living room accents… or that really nice sweater you’ve been eyeing 😉

Add greenery.
An easy way to create ambiance, dimension and aesthetics is to bring greenery into your home. Plants add life to any room and can also help to improve air quality and reduce stress.
The new year brings new opportunities. These small changes can help create a newly refreshed feel. By incorporating these tips (and some of your own), you’ll feel happy and refreshed in your 2023 home.
